After 10 minutes without packaging I send it back.

There were as many good reviews as I had hoped. I keep my fingers crossed. I held my breath. And after 10 minutes without packaging I send it back. I put in the batteries and set everything up, set the scale on the flat, smooth, hard surface of my packing table and turned it on. Immediately the display started counting up and down. I hoped he would calm down, but after a few minutes he seemed to be moving back and forth. I experimented a bit with moving the cable and that seemed to make the problem worse. My guess is that it is caused by (slight) battery fluctuations and/or near/far end "crosstalk" in the RJ11 cable between the display and the scale itself. For fun, I turned off the display (while it was on) and slid it around to see if the numbers would still fluctuate. They did. EVEN WITHOUT ENTERING WEIGHTS, they STILL don't stay at 0! Save yourself the hassle. I've had several scales (some with 1/100 gram sensitivity to calculate "amount by weight" for light items) and this is quite a disappointment. The video is included for your viewing (dis)pleasure.
