I work in IT, both professionally and outside of it. My home lab has a rack of 12 PCs, some running Linux, some running Windows. So I was looking for a simple KVM. I don't like complicated functions like OSD. I change my settings often. In no particular order, here are my impressions. 1) Oh it's cheap! 2) Oh, it's LITTLE. not even 1U. It's 0.5U.3) Plug it in, plug it in. 4) Works! to the console. Not bad, but annoying. 7) Windows boxes do not have the above problem. 8) It's a simple no-frills switcher, no scanning, no annoying stuff I never use. This box is limited to VGA (or use converters) so resolution is limited and analog. You wouldn't want to use it as absolute color accuracy is required. So it's not included in my office where I do photo editing. But for my server room it's perfect. For a remote control to be really useful, it has to be wireless. It would be nice to pair this with a wireless keyboard and mouse. But hey, this is gear that costs under $100 and works well. I am completely satisfied.
