I have an old rat that is 2 years and 7 months old and has hind leg paralysis. I ordered it in a medium size, which is pretty good, but maybe next time I'll order it in a large because I think it will work a little better. In any case, it's good to have a reserve in case of washing. It's never been chewy so I don't have to worry. I just wanted to give him a good, comfortable place to sleep since he can no longer climb in hammocks. Since he lost all his brothers and is currently locked up alone, I removed all climbing accessories. So everything he needs is on the bottom of the cage so this bed is perfect for my use. It is easy to put on and take off and is very soft. I couldn't take a picture of him on the bed because now that he's alone he wakes up every time he hears me and goes to the cage.
