The only food you should give a chinchilla!

The best food for chinchillas on the market! I have always trusted the Oxbow brand for all my small pets. DO NOT buy Kaytee, it is very harmful to animal health. All my pets have lived happily longer than expected, half are love and care, the other is OXBOY! My chinchilla is beautiful and healthy and is banging on her plate when she comes out of the chinchilla! Highly recommend buying their goodies. A balanced diet is also important for small critters!

Chinchillas don't like it as much as other food

I bought this food because I saw rave reviews about it. I don't know if chinchillas are picky or what but they didn't really like it. They eat it, but it sits for a while until they get hungry. Other food I buy them, they start eating it as soon as it gets in their bowl. I think it's good food, they ate it, they never got sick or anything. I won't buy it again because they prefer other food and this one is expensive although all the other products now raise the prices to the same level. I hate…

This really is the BEST chin lining!

I have 6 rescue Chins that came to me because the breeder passed away and the Chins were abandoned for a year after her death. They were fed Purina Show rabbit chow that was kept stale rather than fresh. Since I've been feeding this stuff, they've filled up and look great. It really helped with her recovery. I also feed this food to Timothy Hay every day. Chinsu needs hay and Oxbow Hay is also a high quality feed. If you love your chin, buy this lining. A 25 lb bag lasts 3.5 months for my 6…

Good food that is good for you.

You'll need an airtight container for this, but the wholesale price is worth it. I would look for a dog food container because there are many options and this food bag is about the size of a dog food bag. My chins love this food and it's good for them too. Never give chinchilla food with raisins or colored pieces, these are chinchillas, not gerbils. They only eat the colored pieces and not the normal pellets, which can lead to obesity and nausea. Always feed plenty of timothy grass seeds with…

One of the few good, healthy chinchilla food options

Judging by the forums, Oxbow appears to be a brand that offers healthier chinchilla food than most alternative products. They are considered a good choice for several reasons: - Unlike many other chinchilla food brands, Oxbow specializes in small and exotic pet foods and accessories (an indication that this is their core business and they will focus on quality and safety) - The Food does not contain colorful cute bits like some other chinchilla food on the market - your fur will look shinier…

Chinchilla likes it

My one and a half year old chinchilla likes it a lot. It looks like she has started eating them from breeders and I slowly mixed this into her original food until within two months she was like this when I first brought her home (the best way to help them transition to a new food). She eats well and seems to enjoy it, rarely leaving many pellets behind when it's time to replenish. I feed her about 2-3 ounces every 24 hours and discard what is left over during that time. The £10 bag lasted them…

Good quality chinchilla food approved by my picky chinchillas

Not the best price but you don't buy 25 pound bags of chinchilla pellets at a time either. In terms of flavor and aroma, all of my chinchillas seem to prefer it to the pellets I've ordered from Exotic Nutrition. And it doesn't contain the unnecessary "treats" that are all found in some other "extra" chinchilla mixes, which really isn't good for your chinchillas. Chinchillas are best fed plain, high-quality chinchilla pellets rather than mixes that have raisins and other treats already added…

Best Wholesale Food for Chinchillas

8 years ago we welcomed a Guinness (Black Coated Chinchilla) into our family. He came up with lots of questions about how to take care of a chinchilla as we've never had anything like him (mostly cat and dog owners). We used to go to pet stores and buy him seeded food and treats mixed with baled hay pellets. Over time, he began eating less and less compressed hay and more treats and seeds, becoming very picky about his food. We didn't care, and finally one day I noticed that his eyes were…
