I have had 4 of these compact fluorescent bulbs installed in my master bathroom for about 6 months now and have no regrets purchasing them. These bulbs to replace old incandescent bulbs are definitely your best choice. I had to use round incandescent bulbs (or equivalent) as they are directly exposed and pivoting CFLs are not very aesthetically pleasing. The bulbs I removed were almost the same size and shape but they use a quarter of a standard bulb so the 4 bulbs I just installed give what only one of the bulbs could. The main reason I bought these lamps. in particular it is the temperature in the color spectrum. At 5000K, these lamps almost bring daylight into my bathroom. Colors are presented as true colors and there isn't really a single isolated color that makes the bulbs stand out - unlike many LEDs which flash at lower temperatures and produce blue light. they should reach their peak power, but they reach their peak power in a very short time (about 15-30 seconds). I've tried other CFLs with similar light quality, but it took about twice as long to get the optimum. For decorative lamps that produce quality light after a very reasonable warm-up time and can reduce energy consumption by 75%, I give these lamps five stars. I was also looking at LEDs at the time of purchase, but to get something with similar performance they ran at least twice as much as this one. And they really didn't use significantly less power (15W vs. 10-12.5W). If LEDs can't match the price of CFLs, I probably won't use them. However, it would be nice to see an LED light bulb with a wider range of colors. Until technology can accommodate such a bulb, I will definitely keep buying these bulbs.
