First of all, be aware that even though it looks like you can have the short part of the "L” on the opposite side of the longer piece, it will not assemble that way. Also, I could not get the pieces to slide into place without using a hammer and that damaged the finish on the metal. The instructions were clear and understandable, it was just difficult to get everything in place and lining up correctly. Once the frame was together the screw holes were off and did not match up with the wood top. I actually had to drill out some of the metal to be able to get the screw to go through the metal & the wood. Not disappointed in the quality of the desk once finished, but we had to rearrange the entire room because it wasn’t possible to do the opposite L shape.
