I've been wanting one of these for a long time. I used a magnet that I had written clean on one side and dirty on the other and all I had to do was turn it over, but I often forgot. I had labeled another magnet so the clean one was upside down and the dirty one was upside down. This didn't work either. This one is magnetic so it sticks nicely to the front of the dishwasher (there are also two adhesive discs supplied if for some reason the magnet doesn't stick). There is a disc that slides easily to clean/dirty so you can tell the dishes is ready to be cleaned or waiting to be washed.
