Bought these plates to attach magnets to. The description says "steel". They are stainless steel and the magnets don't stick to the SS. Good plates. Good quality stainless steel. They just didn't meet my needs so I sent them back. If you are looking for stainless steel plates they are very good. .

I don't know what metal these brackets are made of but they are non magnetic so I bought them. They seem light enough to be aluminum but for now I only have a couple of plates that I could use to mount or drill them for tumbler plates or whatever but I can't attach magnets to them.

They will most likely work for all your purposes unless you plan on attaching magnets to them. They are not just "steel". Maybe stainless steel? I was going to attach them to a wooden table to attach magnetic hooks, but these panels are not magnetic. Would give 5 stars if they mentioned it's not pure steel (like stainless steel, nickel alloy steel etc.).

These plates and screws seem to be put up for sale haphazardly. There are 6 screws in each tiny bag but only 4 on the plate. The screws don't go all the way in and stick out. I replaced these screws with something else because one screw broke and lost its head. Remember that the slab is of good thickness. The blue protective film on the disc is of poor quality and difficult to remove completely. Some of the foils were partially removed on arrival and the panels had scratches.

If your project calls for a beautiful, professional look, this product is not for you. I was confident in purchasing this product (it came with the required screws - no guesswork as I had previously bought several plates separately a week before, along with some suggested screws which should have worked.
