Review on Wraith Cooler Processor AM4 Connector by Payton Stovall

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Complicated installation. watch the video Tech

This cooler is idling on my 1600AF chip at 25 degrees C. I know when I was a kid in America, my teachers taught us the decimal system and promised us that when we were their age, the US would standardize the metric system. 4-pin fan power connector and then additional connectors: 4-pin ARGB connector or 3-pin USB connector. 4 fans are hardwired and two ARGB or USB headers (9-pin USB 2.0) are optional to provide lighting and controls. Great timing options, limited RGB options but one of those is the TEMP option, one of a dozen. As you can see in the picture, green idle. Very satisfied. This item was purchased for a return and was scratched quite badly. Windex vinegar, kitchen paper and after 5 minutes it looks like new. The face of the bowl was also stained with ancient compound. The alcohol wipes I use to clean my readers are probably 5 total and some work and were almost clean prior to installation. Very happy with it. So that's my 2 cents per install. I oriented mine so that AMD can be read in the top left, assuming that was the intended orientation of the fan. This means the side of the lock is closer to the top of the board. I first snapped the bottom ring onto the AM4 plastic mount and made sure the top side clip was in its extremely "relaxed" position, this is the latch that allows the clip to slide as far towards the board to move (play with a minute to get used to something). Then with the bottom secured I leveled the sink and pressed (carefully) while pressing on the top next to the base where the square clip moved it slightly from side to side to line up the hole with the plastic latch, I squeezed harder. Metal clip as I did on the sink to take advantage of the 'click' of the second clip. Then move the clamping lever (black) at the top in the opposite direction, which "locks" the heatsink. It's a shaky procedure, but it's actually not that difficult.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • Everything great
