I bought this to replace a cheap e-collar that didn't work properly to begin with. Consistency is key when training a dog, especially a bulldog who can be stubborn. The remote feels a little heavier than the ones I've used before, it's definitely built to a higher standard than the others and feels great in my hand (I'm Steve's wife). Same goes for the collar - the collar itself is very thick plastic, it seems almost indestructible which is great. It's long and has lots of holes for a perfect fit. The collar receiver is just as well made as the remote control. It can be turned off by touching the red dot on the receiver with the red dot on the remote control (thanks to the magnet behind the red dots), so there's no risk of accidentally turning it off while walking around the pitch. It only takes 2 hours to charge after fully discharged, while both the remote control and the receiver can be charged at the same time. I haven't had a chance to check the battery life yet, but after 24 hours the battery still shows as charged on the remote and the indicator on the collar is still flashing green to show it's fully charged. The wide range of levels allowed us to pinpoint exactly where we needed to be to correct our dog without over-correcting: 45 is our base level for getting him to be alert and 70 when he's very excited and in his "intense focus". Think. The dial for adjusting the intensity level also has some resistance, so it's less likely to change on its own in our pocket, for example. We are very happy with this collar so far. The only downside I would have would be that it doesn't have a sound function which my dog responded well to with the cheaper collar we had previously. This will get the job done. It's expensive but worth it.
