I haven't had any luck with the suction cup method on most car mounts. This iPhone car mount comes with two different air vent mounts to attach to my air vent so I don't have to worry about my expensive iPhone 12 Pro Max falling apart if I hit a bump. The mount uses a ball mount to replace it with an air vent which I wanted to use on my car. A wing nut clamp works best for this. Car, but the included hook mount that grabs behind the vent works well for a car with large vents. The holder itself is very durable and holds my phone well without much effort when closing it. The bottom rail is adjustable so the side clips don't interfere with the phone's buttons when closed.
