Performance is good enough to give a general rough idea, but we found the humidity readings often varied from 5% to an almost amazing 15%. Additionally, when placed in an enclosure with 90-100% humidity, the display freezes and stops updating readings. After a long period of vigorous shaking, blowing out the vent and waiting, the device burst into life but clearly could not withstand the extreme humidity and moisture content in the air. So ultimately it depends on your usage and expectations, but it's definitely not a scientific tool.
