It has plenty of room for extra items and the straps/handles are long enough and secure. In addition, a Velcro fastener prevents the laptop from falling out and the laptop compartment is thickly padded for protection. I also like the variety of zippered compartments because they make it easy to store your charger, mouse, and other items. The only thing I didn't like was the initial chemical smell, but after 3 days it was gone and the bag works great.
