Review on 🍲 AQSS Certified White Augason Farms 30-Day 1-Person Emergency Food Supply by Nathan Hutchinson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This is great value. Update July 14, 2017 Sam's local club in Des Moines is selling them for $30.

Update 3rd August 2017 I haven't really paid much attention to this but the bucket that is currently being shipped is larger than the one that this package came in. I had an old one take out an empty bucket and noticed the difference. (I use storage buckets.) This company's previous buckets were 5 gallon. This is a 7 liter bucket. And as before, it is packed to the top and compacted under the lid. Augason Farm products are simple and no frills. They have some things that taste great and others that I can share. It's a matter of taste. For flavor and ease of preparation, I prefer the Mountain House brand. But for a simple good meal for a dollar ($$$$), this is the best deal. Their "Morning Moo's" is the best powdered milk I've ever tasted. So my money seems to be going to these guys here at Revain. Previous rating below:--------------------------------------------- -------------- I decided it was time to order one of these buckets again. I'm finishing a bucket I opened about 4 years ago. You can buy this bucket at Sam's Club, but I love having it shipped right to my door. Also, I find Sam's Club a bit more expensive. The food is simple but very good. The powdered milk in these buckets is the best condensed milk I have ever tasted in my life. I usually hate powdered milk, but I like this one. It doesn't have the typical taste of powdered milk. I made savory veggies today. Mainly pasta, rice, carrots, lentils and I'm not sure what else. The taste is pleasant, like fresh from the garden. One of the ingredients it contains still seems slightly dried out even after cooking. I'm not sure which. But I add butter, greaves and paprika and it tastes great. Last night I ate chicken rice out of a bucket. Cooking probably takes longer than anything else in the bucket. A negative or positive side, depending on your point of view. The food here is seriously dried out, the food in this bucket has had ALL the moisture drained from it. You can't just add hot water to anything other than milk. You really have to cook it in boiling water for a while before the food becomes soft. This is great for storing it. But it also requires your patience while waiting for it to finish. The food will definitely fill you up. There are no questions. As with all of these dried survival foods, there are some that you enjoy more than others. One thing: If you're traveling or don't have a fridge available, this is for you. I don't know about the 30 day part since my last bucket lasted 4 years. But I only get something out of it occasionally, and when it happens I even think about it. But I've met people who regularly buy these buckets to feed their families. I remember meeting a guy who drove 10 of those buckets to his car at Sam's club. And those buckets were all he bought. Tonight I'm uploading photos of my hearty veggies and milk from my four year old bucket. Update July 145, 2017: Sam's local club appears to be dropping them. The local Sam's Club in Des Moines currently sells storage tubs for $30.
