you wouldn't expect from 3/8" brass sockets they are smaller inside and out. They are smoother than expected. I use them for vinyl sheeting for the roof of small wooden tents. won't last as long as the others. may be suitable for using a tarpaulin in windless areas. The dies I have for 3/8 eyelets won't work with these eyelets because the inside of the eyelets are smaller. It splits eyelets
