I can't believe I have to say that about a Dewalt product. I'm so used to them being as good as can be, but I've found major usability issues with this set. The case is nice and solid with a regular slide lock. The problems start out as very minor but gradually get worse. The case has a lot of sharp edges, and if your fingers are sensitive after a long time of work, it will not be very comfortable to use the case. It also has many spots where dirt and, even worse, rain linger. This speeds up the corrosion of the cubs inside when you embed them to go off the court. The bits themselves are well hardened and precisely sharpened. However, they seem so determined to label them as made in China and Dewalt that it's hard to tell if it's supposed to be a P1, P2 or P3 type bit etc. One bit wasn't marked at all and two were so faint I practically needed a microscope to read what it was. PLEASE less "China" and "Dewalt" I know who you are and where you are from. I'm more interested in your height. Or at least stamp properly. The choice of bits is also a bit strange. Maybe too many P2 bits? Of course there are too many S2 bits, they don't wear out that quickly and they are mainly used in Canada. The position of the bits in my set was odd: P3 with S series bits and so on. While this is fairly trivial, as they are inserted and removed, the problem becomes much more complex. Mine won't push back because the little black protrusions press on the rest of the holder if you try. You have to put them back, which is not easy because there is not much space. The holders don't even rotate for easy re-insertion. They are close to the body so they cannot move. It's actually very difficult to get the holders in and out as I don't think they are meant to be tampered with. I was lucky I had an old broken case from a cheap bit set I had years ago. So I was able to take her there as the proper Dewalt hull is so useless. The last problem was that I don't understand the markings on the spline bits? I'm used to them being characterized by the width of the blade or even a combination of width and thickness. I ended up using my micrometer to find out that the one marked "8" is 6.97mm long, which is almost only 1mm longer than the one marked "6" but 1mm less than I thought . If quality control is so poor they can't even get them the right size for basic 1/4" hex bits, then it's worth worrying if there are other nasty surprises lurking waiting to be discovered will?
