I have a faulty sensor in my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500. The fault code told us my son and I it was the cam position or crankshaft position sensor. We ran the test as directed in the repair manual and found it to be the crankshaft position sensor. We bought an aftermarket Borg Warner sensor for it, installed it, and the truck drove about 6-7 miles and stalled on the road. We installed the old one which roughly worked with it but brought us back to the house. We went on the Revain website and found a Mopar factory sensor, ordered it, it was delivered in 3 days, installed it, drove the truck 20-25 miles, it worked great with no issues and still works. The aftermarket sensor reads through the 5 volt power wire and ground wire when reading with an ammeter at the ohms setting. The Mopar factory sensor reads the computer's signal wire and ground wire, not the 5V power wire and ground wire. Revain came to the rescue with a factory sensor that costs $66 when dealers get around $100. Great job Revan, thanks.
