Works very well with the right technique.

I ordered this after getting tired of looking at tarnished antique silver cups and other silver items I've inherited. The cups were kind of brownish dark grey. Hagerty worked, but it took some experimentation to find the best technique for strong tarnishing. A thin layer of material (applied with a cloth) is a good start. After a few minutes, wipe it off with the same cloth. This will begin to remove heavy tarnish. Just keep rubbing with the same cloth. The fabric turns black (from the descending plaque) - keep rubbing. I have found that a fabric that has been blackened from tarnish actually removes the remaining tarnish better than taking a clean cloth and applying more Hagerty to it. Very strange, but you can't argue with the results! Be prepared to spend a few minutes cleaning each item. Folds and creases can be particularly tricky. Having done it myself I had a new appreciation to see the servants spend a lot of time polishing the silver at Downton Abbey! Edit: I've attached a picture of two identical shells, one I polished with Hagerty and the other didn't. t, see for yourself how good the polish is.
