Review on 3M Marine Sealant 5200 - Black, 3 Ounces - Permanent Bonding and Sealing for Boats and Marine Applications by Justin Castro

Great stuff for the right uses!

I like this material but you need to understand its properties and know when to use it and when not to use it. 1. It comes off in about 24 hours and takes up to 7 days for a 1/4 inch bead to set. Therefore, it can only be used if the item is not disturbed before curing. This helps him harden. in a tube and I can usually carry the tube all summer on the boat for small sealing jobs (Fast Cure 5200 is available) 2. It is very durable once cured. They claim it is for permanent use. It can be cut to remove the item, but the residue is almost impossible to remove. 3. It is very dirty and not as viscous as other sealants, so care must be taken to use it well. Don't let it drip where you don't want it. ● Place the caulking gun on the box when you stop dispensing and release the pressure.
