I love the design of this cake stand and dome. It seems great to travel with which is why I bought it, but if you're looking for something to use at home I'd go for something more elegant in crystal or glass; Made of clear hard plastic, this product is more practical than beautiful, but still looks a lot nicer than Tupperware. The stand is detachable, so you can put it in the trunk of your car and store it in a more compact way. Turning the tray upside down makes it the perfect plate for vegetables and sauces, as does the dome above. There is a rib on the perimeter at the top and bottom to keep the dome in place when moving. You can also use it as a punch bowl in a pinch, but I probably wouldn't use it for that purpose. It's the perfect little cake stand or tray for veggies and sauces, fruit, cheese, etc. to take to the party.
