I thought the idea was great! Unfortunately, many packages leak in the same spot after freezing. Obviously this is a disadvantage as it is the very spot that leaks in every package. Some bags have a weak spot in the same spot but won't leak if you handle it very carefully. You shouldn't fill them up to the fill line, but slightly below because when the liquid freezes, it expands, making the top almost impossible to open. I prefer to use scissors and just cut off the tip. You should freeze them after they've been filled with liquid while standing upright, but even if you do it right, some of the bags will form a small hole near the bottom and will leak when taken out of the freezer. The first time I used them I didn't realize they had a defect, I took them to a kids party and when I took them out of my ice box and handed them out I found they were spilling with difficulty - what a mess a mess! I tried to take a picture to show the error. In the blue picture - I used water and food coloring to show the flaw, you can see the bulge at the bottom. If there is another brand I will not buy again! Like the thought idea.
