This is money well spent. I've just finished a job replacing a valve stem seal on a Mitsubishi Montero - the same job I helped a friend do a few years ago. This was the first time we've used a universal valve spring compressor and it took many hours of taking the compressor to different locations to get the correct angle for each valve, not to mention trying to find retainers and to replace (and lose three somewhere). in the bowels of the engine compartment). It took us a full couple of days to get all the work done. Fast forward to using this Lisle tool and it took maybe three hours. Make no mistake that some valves are easier to get to than others - if you shoot straight into the valve it's easy - one good swipe to remove the spring and another swipe or push (if you have a good angle ) to replace all . Working with brackets and other engine compartment components sometimes takes a few tries, but we were able to successfully apply this to each of the 24 valves. Highly recommended!
