My family has used Press N Seal for a long time for food storage and it always works and keeps things closed (when properly applied).A less typical use for Press N Seal is for large or awkwardly placed wounds. When a family member got cancer a nurse recommended we used it to cover a chest terminal. It works very well on skin in combination with gauze. I have also used it on large cuts/wounds and it is more cost effective than the clear waterproof bandages. But I can't say whether or not it is sterile. Check with a doctor before use for wounds.
