I used this on a window in a small laundry room. We needed privacy but we didn't want to lose the light. The blinds were always closed (i.e. the light cut off) and dusty. I love the clean, modern feel that looks frosted glass and doesn't need any additional window dressing. It's less transparent than I expected. We see green spots and a dark spot where the car is parked just 2.50 m from the window, but I can't see any details. The same applies, of course, to the house inspection, which had priority. Application was *easy* thanks to tips in previous reviews! Wash the window well. Cut off a piece slightly larger than the window. Wet the jar well with water from a spray bottle and a drop of soap. Use masking tape to separate the backing paper from the foil. I didn't feel like it was in any danger of tearing or sticking to itself. It is much easier to use than contact paper and very gentle. I used 2 factory edges on the window so I didn't have to trim them. I had no problem smoothing out the bubbles with the included small squeegee. Eventually I noticed that there was a speck of dirt underneath the film and I had no trouble lifting the film and wiping the dirt spot. After smoothing, I used a spatula and utility knife to trim the other two edges of the window. and then i realized i needed a new blade. Uh oh it took me about 10 minutes to find the slats and when I got back the window was already dry with no film stuck on that side. Oh oh no problem! I just peeled it off and repainted the glass with no problems. For the second part a double folding window. I unrolled the film and used "end" so I had 2 more factory edges to work with. It glides easily on wet glass and adheres well when smoothed and dried. It seems to stand up to cleaning, but it certainly won't last forever. I think I'll appreciate being able to open the window without messing with blinds or curtains. A great option for privacy without damaging the window. You don't even have to drill holes for a pole or blinds! Edited September 14th: It's been over a year and it still looks like day one. Status 11/2015: Still good after two years! It was easy to wash and withstood the extreme temperatures of northern Ohio. Status 8/2017 STILL looks GOOD! Still holding. Costs money.
