Review on 🚰 Seamless Leak-Proof Bulkhead Fitting for Effortless Homebrewing by Awiwi Swift

Take the kettle to the welder and get it right

It's leaking. You can't seal safely. I read the reviews and thought I could fix this issue. It's not just threaded parts like the valve that go up to the nipple, the "bulkhead" part is just a nipple with a washer and then a nut at the back with some rubber washers. It will seep through the threads if you don't use the entire roll of teflon tape, and this may or may not work. I had to solder a washer to the nipple to make it work. Now about how the valve threads reach the nipple. They provide a gasket that is inserted into the valve to seal the nipple, but this severely restricts flow. I use this on my rinse kettle and I should have gotten a mash at 150-152 degrees but had to keep the mash tun lid open long enough for that kettle to drain into the check valve which I finished. under 145. Soldering the parts fixed the leak, now I need to fix the flow issue.

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • So far so good
