My Frontier has crashed with the dreaded engine code P0442. This code is caused by a small leak in the evaporative emission system. This continued, so I bought this new gas cap in hopes of solving the problem. At first it didn't happen, and I drove the truck for a week staring at the "Check Engine" light. I was willing to smoke out the system to diagnose the problem. But then I read the instructions on the cap that said it should be tightened with four clicks. I did this and the code is gone!
