My main concern when I bought this for my 2015 Silverado 1500 Ext Cab was that it would prevent access to the rear latch handle on my HardHat branded triple rack, when the extension was inside the bed. I'm happy to say she doesn't mind - see photos. Enough space to engage or disengage when the extension is folded. Installation was pretty easy. The hardest part was stuffing my fat fists into the space behind the taillights where the nuts were needed to hold the brackets (use thin cotton work gloves - very sharp edges!) - the rest was easy as I had the necessary tools - a torque wrench to 22 lbs, torx screwdrivers (for taillight removal and extension assembly - various sizes), metric wrenches and sockets (13mm), 1/8" and 21/64" drill bits, center punch, automotive tape, etc I'm pretty slow, methodical and a perfectionist - it took me 2-3 hours alone. You have to open both rear body panels to slide the extension in or out, but it's not difficult at all. Easy to uninstall and reinstall, too. Lightweight and durable. There's a left and right side if you don't want the straps to twist when you buckle them to the tailgate, but like I said, I'm a perfectionist. I would choose it again. I like that it's full size and doesn't taper towards the middle.
