Review on Star Fluxx Card Game by Looney Labs - LOO 085 by Maurice Morris

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Is this game for you? If you're a Star Trek/Fluxx fan, YES!

1) I AM A STAR TRACK AND FLUXX FAN ---> you need this TLDR; Just save time and get all 3: Star Trek Fluxx, Star Trek The Next Generation Fluxx and the Bridge Expansion Pack. WHAT? If you're a gamer, you're probably familiar with at least one incarnation of Fluxx. The closest thing to Fluxx in terms of map composition and game mechanics is Star Fluxx, a parody of popular sci-fi icons with no copyright infringement. But now Looney Labs has done the seemingly impossible by securing the publishing rights to Star Trek Fluxx and releasing separate decks for TOS and TNG. They have Creepers, Wardens with special abilities, and some great new actions and new Trek rules. No big surprises in game mechanics here, just good old Fluxx fun but now with the addition of Star Trek! WHAT IS UNIQUE? While all Fluxx decks have the same card backs and some fans can and do mix and match different decks, Andrew Looney and Looney Labs never did. previously supports this practice because it changes gameplay and makes the game much longer and harder to win. While Fluxx is usually a blissfully fast interlude for me, fans know the game can drag on at times. So I was in awe and very skeptical about the fact that there is a Bridge Pack expansion that lets you mix Star Trek and Star Trek TNG Fluxx decks together. My hypothesis before attempting this feat was that I wouldn't like merged decks and that the game would drag on indefinitely. But miracle of miracles, it really works! Not only does this NOT increase the average game time, but I also find that combining decks is even MORE FUN than playing them individually!?! I think that's because Bridge Expansion facilitates botanical comparisons between two starship crews in a way that I find very interesting. Andy Looney is a genius, there is no other explanation :-) 2) I AM A STAR TRACK FAN BUT NOT A GAMER --> you might need this. Chances are you'll still enjoy the original artwork and might find a fun, usually quick card. a game that changes its rules during play. I would suggest buying just one of the two Fluxxes, either Star Trek or Star Trek TNG depending on which of the two shows you like the most. (You can always come back to this later for details!) 3) I AM A FLUXX FAN BUT NOT A STAR TREK FAN --> this is not for you It's okay, I'm not judging ;) This game probably isn't for you you . Maybe you should try to find a copy of Star Wars Fluxx in Russian. 4) I AM NOT A FLUXX FAN AND NOT A STAR TREK FAN --> Thank god Murgatroid, why did you even stop by to read this? Go ahead, find something you love to play and enjoy and we will do the same and help make the world a kinder, peaceful and peaceful place. Live long and prosper! *** Same review posted. for all 3 Star Trek Fluxx
