I needed to cut cold rolled steel on my desktop CNC. In general, steel is not the type of material you want to cut on a benchtop CNC, which is usually not as hard as it needs to be. But with some well thought out feeds and speeds it is possible. I bought a set of 2 tooth end mills - ISE1/8"2T. And I'm very impressed. I ran the machine at 15,000 chatters, the cut is smooth as butter and the final pass left a very nice finish The edges of the cuts you know what else the packaging of the end mills was very good too I know it doesn't matter but most manufacturers don't even think about the packaging just to give some perspective I mostly use Spektra end mills from Amana Tools and Whiteside Cutter end mills, both for wood. These Speed Tiger end mills were my first exposure to cutting steel.
