On paper, this monitor met all of my dual-use needs for work and play. USB-C to connect to my work laptop, DisplayPort to connect to my gaming PC. The audio output allowed me to easily share the speakers between both computers, which was an added benefit. Pros: - Excellent IPS image quality. Much better quality for gaming than a similar Acer IPS panel I bought 6 years ago. - Wide variety of input options - 75Hz, 1ms response time is good for gaming (my desktop can't run at 144Hz, so 75Hz is smooth enough for me). Cons: - matte anti-reflective coating obscures text. There were no issues with games or movies, but it was a little noticeable at work. Excessive backlight bleeding. Ultimately, the backlight show-through was so severe that I had to replace the panel. The top-left corner of the screen was fairly bright and was very distracting in dark scenes in movies or games. While my old Acer still has some backlight bleeding, it's not at all as annoying as this monitor. If I had used this monitor purely for work, the issues wouldn't have bothered me enough to return it. TL; DR Do this when you're ready to play the panel lottery and hope you get one without a backlight. Otherwise there are probably other options at this price point with better quality control.
