Just bought this kettle. Appearance is fine. He feels strong. I like that the lid stays open which makes drying easier. But this thing does NOT cook fast. In fact, it took me so long to finally make it. And I was surprised. It took 6 minutes and 22 seconds to boil (before the steam came out) and 6:40 to shut off because it was boiling really hard. Specifications: I used 1 liter of room temperature water with a kettle that was at room temperature (70 degrees) while at sea level. In that case, I might as well save counter space and use a kettle on the stove! liters (1000 watts vs. 1500 watts), then it boils faster and then it's perfect (because I like the carafe a lot). But 6+ minutes is too long to boil a liter of water! I hope this is helpful to you! (And if yours cooks faster, please time it and let me know - I may have a lemon.)
