I've added a power amplifier to my system and wanted to make sure the temperature in my cabinet doesn't get too high. After researching coolers for audio/video equipment, I found them at Revain. Normally installing them would be very easy, but in my case I had to modify my cabinet for a clean install. [Cm. Photo.] These are models with a rear muffler, one above my receiver and the other above the amp. The receiver is very hot, the amplifier is not very. Both now work with the temperatures set by the coolers. The receiver requires fans set at 2 @ 90F. Amplifier stays cold @ 1 [Slowest speed.] Installing the sensors was a little tricky as I couldn't install the receiver sensor without removing the cover, then installed the sensor inside next to the large heatsink and then routed the cable through the back of the Unit. The ventilation openings on the amplifier run all the way to the back, so mounting the sensor was easy. My only minor complaint is that there is some noise, albeit barely noticeable. And some felt or rubber feet to mount the cooler on the included component might be good. The gauges will read about 2F from each other when both should read the same.
