Just tried the lifetime warranty. absolute effort; After creating an account (required for a replacement) on the Zagg website and answering all product replacement questions there, the transaction failed. I received a message telling me to try again later or contact our support team. You must also check the box to confirm that you have read and understand the shipping cost ($3.99) applicable to the credit card you entered. And you agree to return the defective item. So you pay $4.00 ($3.99 to $4.00 a penny, not a big difference to me!) to get a replacement and then you have to pay a few bucks more to send the old one back. You can still save on new purchases, but how much is your time worth to you? And why on earth would they return an old, crumpled piece of plastic wrap. I suspect this is just another deterrent to trying to get a replacement. I spent about an hour sending a replacement but it failed. Not wanting to spend any more time with them, I thought I'd write this so anyone trying to take advantage of their "lifetime guarantee" will have an idea of what to expect. Not as easy as it seems! I'm sure they made it very complicated for people like me to get over it and just buy another one. As for installation, if all goes well, this is a good screen protector. And by "if all goes well," I mean having access to a clean room or area with very little dust and lint is a plus. Putting on a tread without recognizable defects is a real challenge. I set up an area in a small bathroom and ran a hot shower for about 5 minutes to steam the room. Then let cool. Neither the heating nor the air conditioning fan work in the house. Then check the dust level with a green laser. Dust or particles in the air are clearly visible in the green laser beam. If the beam appears clear, proceed with the installation. I use surgical gloves and make sure they stay wet or they will stick to the protector. Line it up correctly the first time, subsequent attempts will only mess up the installation. If you're lucky enough to get it dust and stain free, you'll be happy with it and one of the few who actually made it! If it weren't for the stupid "lifetime warranty" I would have raised that star.
