I was concerned it might have sharp edges that are not safe for my snake. I have read all the reviews from people who bought this as snakeskin and they were all positive, one person even left a review saying it has no sharp edges. Unfortunately, the edges in life are as sharp as they seem. The inside also has sharp edges from the mold used to make it. I sanded it for quite a while until it was smooth, which can take away the outside paint and detail, but most of my sanding was on the inside, so it didn't bother me too much. My little snake loves it, just like I expected! I'm sure this decoration would be great in aquariums, but in terrariums where your reptile might come into contact with the surface I will ensure you take this into account.
