As many other reviewers have pointed out, this windscreen fits the Shure MV7 and is essentially a needed upgrade over the foam rubber that comes with this mic. The MV7 is a great mic, but *super* explosive. Switching to this foam will help a lot with that, although it still has some downsides. ADVANTAGES + Significant improvement over the MV7 windscreen, improved sound and blocking of much more explosive sounds. + Matches MV7 exactly (I see a review that shows it doesn't). Don't go to the end, you either have a bad block or it was redone properly. Mine fits perfectly.) + Makes MV7 look like SM7B - Points to improve the look of your production kit. + Cheap! CONS - Still not suitable for singing next to the mic. Explosions still happen. I suggest using a larger rounded foam windscreen if you're speaking directly into the mic. But off-axis with little distance is great - gray instead of black. Many other reviewers have noted this. I don't mind the color and it doesn't look cheap on my microphone either. But I would prefer it to be the dark black color of my other foam windshields.
