We have just completed a small renovation of our office basement. We had two chairs; one is quite old - about 16-17 years old - leather (dark brown) and badly scratched from years of abuse from multiple cats. We inherited another mocha-colored imitation suede from a relative. It had a lot of stains that no cleaning seemed to remove. We decided to try and cover these mismatched chairs instead of buying new ones. These chairs are pretty big. They are both very similar in size and slightly different in shape. I ordered dark gray velvet stretch sleeves. I was a little concerned that the sleeves would be too small. But they seem to fit very well. And they stretch a lot. The fabric is very soft and comfortable. As you can see from the photo, my cats love it! I only have two small complaints: 1) The color is a bit different from what I expected from the photos. I thought it was a dark anthracite. It's more of a medium grey. Not the end of the world. 2) There is no good way to secure your back. The loops just don't seem connected to anything that would pull them tight enough to work well with the hand pockets on the back. Attaching to the bottom seemed to work well for a chair (mocha suede). But there wasn't a good way for the leather to secure the back, so it just slid down there. It is possible that my chairs do not have the recommended internal configuration. The back of the chair looks unkempt, but it still looks a lot better than the scratched finish it used to be. The installation didn't go too bad. However, I consider it a two person job if you want it to stay in place and look clean. As long as they seem to stay My husband and I (and the cats) got in and out of our chairs several times, raising and lowering our legs, and everything seemed to stay in place. Overall I would recommend them. Especially if you're trying to save some money until you find the right replacement chairs.
