*Updated Review*After my initial review (see below), Vivosun contacted me and offered to send me a free replacement. I accepted her offer to try again. I ordered a replacement fan which is very quiet and works great after this try I used. However, I was willing to try this one to see if maybe I only got the Slacker block. I got a new device and connected it. It's definitely not as whiny as the original, but still a bit louder than the other one I got (AC Cloudline Infinity). It's also 2 times more expensive, but if you need quiet, it's worth it. Overall I think it's ok if you're on a budget and don't mind a little noise. If you have a coin and want something as good as possible, look elsewhere. I upgraded from 1 star to 4 stars because the customer service was so good. It's still a 3 star product at best compared to other options. This year I set up a grow tent to grow seeds indoors before transplanting them into the garden. I wanted the exhaust fan to be able to bring fresh air in to ensure airflow and good photosynthesis. I bought a Vivosun tent and I was generally satisfied, so I bought this fan for it. I received it and at first glance everything looked pretty high quality. I installed it and turned it on only to hear this horrible, loud, piercing squeak. No matter in which setting, no matter whether filter connected, constant loud squeaking. To his credit, he seems to move a decent amount of air. If I had it in a store or in the attic it would probably be fine. But definitely not for a room in the house. There was no way I could work from home with that nagging, piercing noise in the background. I ended up returning it and replacing it with an AC Infinity Cloudline fan. This filterless fan was just as good as this kit, but it was completely silent. Not sure if I caught a bad fan or if it's just the price you're paying for a cheaper version. But if silence is important, spend the coin on something better.
