It is approaching winter as I write this review, but that doesn't stop me from wanting to grill outdoors. Bacon cheeseburgers know no season! As such, I wanted to up my outdoor grilling game, and chose the HULISEN Heavy-Duty Burger Press & Melting Dome Set to do the job. Buckle in, here is what I found!The packaging was underwhelming, as you can see in the pictures. Normally this may not be a problem, but the burger presser, which is the heavier of the two items in this set, was loose and packing looked rushed. If the package was turned up-side down (and lets admit - invariably it had to at some point in transit. though inconclusive) then it would definitely travel insecurely in the box. That aside, I unwrapped it from the light protection and plastic package. and was greatly impressed, even if my one eyebrow was initially raised.Let me just say that the burger press is impressive (see what I did there?). The handle is sturdy and the weight of the press is quite heavy. It needs to be heavy for its purpose, and it met that requirement. Pressing burgers into the grill has never been more exciting! :D I used this press not only for burgers, but let me tell you where it shines - BACON. Wow, I am used to eating curly shrunk bacon. Putting the press on bacon and cooking it directly on the flat top grill is simply game changing. The bacon is cooked evenly, looks better, and also is a great addition to the burger! The handle is heat resistant, so its easy to manage while grilling.When comparing the weightiness of the burger press, the basting dome felt a bit lighter. It has a plastic handle that must be attached with a Phillips head screwdriver prior to use. So, if you don't have a screwdriver handy then I suggest you hop right on over to your Best Buy cart and buy one. The basting dome, even though it didn't feel as masterful as the press, certainly did the job on my flat top grill. I cooked some fish and vegetables and used this to seal in the flavor, and it did a fantastic job. Also worth mentioning, stainless steel is easy to clean and this was no exception. Honestly, I felt that this was a simple "add-in" to entice the buyer. While I certainly appreciate it, it wasn't the star of the show.If you feel the need to press your food and impress your guests, this is a great choice.
