Magnets work fairly well with flat tools. But not for screwdrivers. This is not a real magnet stick, but a collection of many magnets strung together. This causes polarity problems when trying to put a screwdriver on the rod. Screwdrivers tend to roll, making it difficult to distribute tools evenly. In fact, unless you are suffering from OCD, there is nothing to worry about. The only reason I took 2 stars off this review is because a very cheap product from Harbor Freight Tools does the same thing with a single continuous magnet that allows you to use the full length of the bar instead of working with it . Polarity problems with these magnets.
