Our 11 year old Shelty, Gus, developed blisters on his elbows and one of them actually broke and required surgery. Gus is so adept at removing the bandages that putting them on helped protect not only the bandages but also the other elbow, which also had a large callus. We use elbow oil on a non-surgical elbow and the sleeves really help. I bought a second set to wash them every few days because they lick the cuffs. I wash and air dry and they are like new. I love these cuffs.
