I liked that the product solders the wire connections and at the same time seals the shrink tubing. However, I did find that on some connections, when the solder started to melt, the solder had melted through the shrink tubing, tinning the wires and making the connection. This forced me to glue the joint, so I bought a "Solder Wire Kit" to avoid that. I sealed the connections with Tesa tape to avoid cable problems. I've seen other kits say they lowered the solder melting point of their connectors. However, they didn't come with the connectors I needed to work with the small car stereo cables.
