Then you need to align and assemble both parts so that they close and snap into place. Didn't match my window. This product looks very successful. We replaced a (very) old metal lock on a small window. It seems sturdy enough to get the job done for a small window, but I'll keep an eye on it. The product consists of two parts. The part without a handle (visible in the top right of the picture) is too narrow. Attempting to install this on a wing requires placing screws so close to the edge of the wing that it is almost impossible not to split or loosen the wood. I purchased this product to replace my existing window latch after painting the interior frame and trimming a new color and didn't want to paint the latch to match the new theme in the rest of the room fits . Although this is a small replacement for my existing latch, there are a few things to note. 1.
