For use with 3M Window Insulator Kits. Works on many surfaces including painted wood, aluminum, and vinyl-clad molding. For outdoor use. Measures 0.5 in x 13.8 yd. Made in the USA. The half-inch in tape width makes it easy to apply around window frames and casings. The tape is easy to apply and has a ready-to-peel liner. Creates a strong bond between the surface, tape and film, securing an air tight seal. Shrinks tight for wrinkle-free, clear-as-glass results. Increases R-value by 90% over an average single pane window.

Works great.

To be honest I was afraid it wouldn't work well outside, but I used it to make windows in my outdoor dovecote and it worked well and in all weather conditions.

3M is the way.

Be sure to apply it above 40-45 degrees, otherwise it won't stick either. Also use some rubbing alcohol on the areas you apply it to to remove any grease or dirt. It's a small extra step, but worth a few minutes.

Good stuff about building materials

I use this tape to attach outer film and it works great. I ruined the film on a window and had to peel it off. I cut another piece of foil and glued it to the same tape I just screwed on and it held the new foil perfectly and stuck.

Outer band usually works better than inner band

Outer band usually works better than inner band. This year, however, I have to dig deeper. I applied a few a week ago and the tape has already come off one of my windows. Hopefully the rest of the windows will hold up.

Great outdoor HVAC tape

I bought a very large Frost King film for my 8ft window but the tape didn't hold the plastic to the frame at all. This year I used 3M tape, it holds perfectly. Not sure why 3M doesn't make film for large patio windows outside, all I could find was interior film, too bad they don't. So I buy Frost King Outdoor sheeting and 3M tape to hold it up. This is the only tape I use now, indoors and out.
