I've never owned a broom and dustpan like this. The design looked like it was exactly the solution I was looking for as my back hurts. I'm not saying this as a joke; I actually have a 5 disc fusion and sweeping a handful of dog hair across six tiled rooms makes me very tired. Unfortunately, I don't like this set as much as I thought I would. I don't hate it; It's just not really hard work and it's pretty clumsy to use. The fact of the matter is that this thing appears cheap and flimsy. I don't have high hopes for durability. First, the poles don't connect very well to each other. There is some wobbling between the pieces and it looks like it's about to fall apart. It hasn't happened yet but I've only had it for 3 weeks. The broom itself is about the same quality as the one I got from Dollar Tree. Just a few thin rows of bristles and they are very flexible and bend a lot. Do I prefer a slightly stiffer broom? (or hard?) and tough. It's the complete opposite of that. A shovel is better than a broom, but it still has its downsides. I love the way it stands on its own and has a handle that in theory I thought would be a real life saver, but in practice it's useless. I like the built in prongs on the top of the pan to help get rid of dust balls. but that's where the benefits end. I don't like the pivoting nozzle on the bucket. The bucket should tip to a vertical position when you pick it up off the ground, but mine gets stuck in horizontal working mode (parallel to the ground). If I don't notice it right away and take a few steps with a shovel like that, everything I just swept up spills out. to start the shovel without the help of your hands. The edge of the shovel surface does not close flush with the ground, but there is a rubber lip in place, ie after you have adjusted it (and adjusted again and again). Getting the dirty contents from the ground into the pot was very difficult at first. I found that I had to quickly sweep the dirt away while still applying pressure and weight to the shovel bucket or I would end up with a pile of dirt under the shovel instead of in it. I constantly have to bend down to fix problems I'm having with this set. The concept of not having to stoop or bend down to fiddle with the dustpan was lost in production. Maybe I'm just stupid? However, it is clear that there are quality control issues. The simple fact is that this set is very cheaply made and more frustrating to use than a simple broom and old-fashioned dustpan. All of these issues combine to give this product a 2.5 star rating at best.
