I bought a used DVD player but the remote control doesn't work. We leave, but the DVD player suddenly shows large subtitles and we cannot remove them from the console. I finally gave in and bought this remote fully expecting that it would not connect to a Samsung DVD player. I was thrilled when the first code listed turned on the player! It was too easy! Why have I waited so long? I pressed stop. worked. Pressed pause. no work. OK, I can handle it. I clicked on the menu to find the language options. big red icon "feature disabled". So basically I can start, stop and play the DVD without having to buy anything else. The instructions even say that not all codes will get all the functions of the device working, but nowhere in the description is this mentioned. So bottom line, it's really nice and promises a lot, but at the end of the day it's an empty heartthrob. Invest at your own risk.
