Review on Audio Technica Cardioid Condenser Boundary Microphone by Wayne Laguna

This device keeps my video conference going and saves me from having to wear a lavalier bracelet or show a mic in a video (drives me crazy) or spend silly amounts on a boom mic. I connected it to Zoom v3. It works great and even at low volume it still sounds crystal clear. This requires phantom power; make sure you take this into account. I've also found that the mic volume (on any audio device) needs to be somewhere above 75% to really get a good signal. It's not that you won't hear any sound at lower levels, but if you want it to be clear and loud enough for those who don't have the best hearing, I recommend a mic volume of at least 75%. Haven't tried it with my Focusrite or M-Audio yet because I like Zoom v3 better than those two. M-Audio is a much older device (still works!) and Focusrite is picky about drivers. I was distracted. I will say one thing: the cord on it is LONG TERM. I understand why it was done; It's such that you can literally place it anywhere in the room. However, it's cardioid-shaped, which means you still need to place it somewhere close to the speaker. Obviously your sound system will not be close to a person, hence the long cable, but what about situations where the sound system is installed under a table? Or where it is designed for the needs of a person? I think what I mean is that I would like them to create a "connector" cable system: basically it should be a shorter piece that connects directly to the device, and then an extension cable if needed, instead of expecting a long cable.
