I drilled a hole in the side of a large metal feeder, threaded it through, tightened it and covered it with plywood. A 1/2" NPT thread or whatever was easy to find and I hooked it up to a garden faucet in my backyard. I haven't had any problems with it yet, it works great. The fittings that come with it are absolute rubbish. Mine popped its own threads just from the pressure of flimsy Texas piping, a trip to the store for a 1/2" pipe thread steel fitting and it worked fine, but I wouldn't have the horrible fittings in the kit anytime soon. If they're like that bad, just leave her.
