Most of the store-bought brushes I've used that say "FIRM" end up being quite painful to use, and they generally don't do their job of taming whiskers. But this one is AWESOME. Seven Potion has a good reputation in the beard product community, but this is my first time buying anything from them. In just 3 days I felt a difference. Here are the highlights: 1. The bristles, while firm, are flexible enough for me to really push my beard through. The handle is made from quality wood (not cheap) and is the perfect size for travel when needed.3. Does a MUCH excellent job of distributing oil and oil into hair and skin. A week after the first application, the beard is visibly softer and less frizzy. Will definitely be buying from Seven Potions again! Bristles not of animal origin. So if you're buying through their company's website I'm assuming it's a refurbished one and not the boar bristle that Amazon currently sells. So I can't speak for him.
