When you climb either up or down the ladder, your feet will swing forward. You need to have strong arms since you will be leaning backward. A senior citizen would not be strong enough in the arms. The rungs are fairly far apart. It would be better if they were not so widely spaced. Be sure you know how to use the carabines. You must push down on them to open. You must twist the swiveling chrome part in one direction to allow the carabine to open and then twist the chrome part in the other direction to lock the carabine shut. I could not use this rope ladder from a balcony due to the feet swinging forward and putting a lot of strain on my arms. This ladder might work against the side of a house where the ladder would not swing forward. The ladder was sturdy, etc. but is not for me and my wife.
