Update November 12, 2020: About five weeks ago, the shaver suddenly stopped working. When I plugged it in to charge, a flashing red battery icon appeared on the grip. I submitted a service request to Braun on their website, along with a copy of the Revain invoice. Braun promptly sent shipping instructions along with a prepaid UPS shipping label. The new replacement razor arrived from Braun in about two weeks. This replacement razor is more powerful and faster than my original 7 year old razor (which still works great). The replacement also lasts significantly longer when charged. Obviously the first razor that failed was defective from the start and I am very pleased with the performance of the replacement. The Braun service was easy to use and I am still a fan of Braun products and would highly recommend this shaver. I bought this shaver to replace my Model 7, which is now 7 years old. older brushed motors are still used by other brands. I use shaving cream and water with these razors for an excellent shave. I used Panasonic razors before my first Braun, but they had to be replaced every year or two when water got into the vagina. I replaced my 7 year old Braun because it didn't seem to provide a close shave and even the new replacement heads didn't improve the shave. This new Braun series is quiet and seems to run a little slower than the old model. I find it best to move the razor a little slower and it cuts less in fewer passes. It says three weeks of battery life, but I think that would be true if all you have is peach fuzz. I believe a week's work on a single charge is what you need. I charge about every three days as I spend probably ten minutes shaving. It offers a very close shave and is fully waterproof, so shave in the shower if you like. Great quality and worth every penny spent. Recommend any brand of shaving cream for a really great shade.
